NAELA, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, is the leading professional organization for attorneys that focus their practice on Elder and Special Needs Law. There have been tremendous and ongoing changes in this area of the law and NAELA has been as the forefront in training its members, which now number 4500. It was NAELA that pushed the ABA to recognize Elder Law as a specialty and has recently moved its offices and established advocacy goals in Washington DC to educate congressman on the needs of the elderly and disabled population.
