Halloween Highlights https://lindafarronknapp.com/2025/11/12/halloween-highlights/ Wed, 12 Nov 2025 22:35:34 +0000 https://lindafarronknapp.com/?p=1324 Team members share some Halloween memories:

Attorney Linda Knapp says that one year she and her husband forgot to buy candy and didn’t realize it until the trick-or-treaters showed up at her door. She checked her pantry and found some miniature Slim Jims which she gave to the eager treat-seekers. “It actually turned out great,” Attorney Knapp recalled, “all the kids loved it!”

Office Manager Teresa Bowers shared that her favorite Halloween memory occurred the year her brother dressed as an old woman and not even his friends and family recognized him! Teresa said it was a combination of good acting and a great costume.

This year is one that Legal Assistant Skye Lowry won’t soon forget. Her favorite part? Her daughter’s witch costume was enhanced when she lost a tooth right before trick-or-treating!

One “Hell” of a Ride https://lindafarronknapp.com/2025/08/28/one-hell-of-a-ride/ Thu, 28 Aug 2025 13:46:34 +0000 https://lindafarronknapp.com/?p=1312

Listen to someone mention the word Texas and you probably think of oil derricks and cowboys, but did you know that Texas is becoming one of the premier destinations for cyclists? It’s true, select universities in the Lone Star state offer some of the only collegiate cycling programs and scholarships in the country. Texas also plays host to numerous cycling races from criteriums to distance races that attract participants from all over the globe. One of the oldest and best well-known is the “Hotter ‘n Hell Hundred” held every August in Wichita Falls. The premise is simple: participants ride their bicycles 100 miles in near triple digit temperatures. Who would willingly choose to do such a thing? One such person is Knapp Law Firm’s legal assistant and law clerk, Skye who was born in Texas and who makes the pilgrimage there every few years to ride this iconic race with family and friends. As she told someone who recently asked what would possibly motivate such a decision, “I just took the bar, how hard can it be?”

Knapp Law Clerk Takes the Bar Exam https://lindafarronknapp.com/2025/08/27/knapp-law-clerk-takes-the-bar-exam/ Wed, 27 Aug 2025 13:25:07 +0000 https://lindafarronknapp.com/?p=1309 Ever wonder what it would be like to take one of the hardest tests in America? According to mastersdegree.net, the Uniform Bar Exam or UBE is the second most difficult exam in the United States. Here’s what you can expect:

In most states, 3 years of law school are required before an individual can even sit for the exam. After law school, the bar taker must complete an additional 500-800 hours of study from early May to the end of July (when the exam takes place). The UBE is 12 hours in length and is taken over a period of 2 days with two 3-hour blocks being administered each day. Nationwide, between 20,000 and 40,000 individuals can be expected to sit for the UBE and between 45% and 65% of those will pass on their first attempt.

On July 29th and 30th, Knapp Law Firm’s very own law clerk, Skye Lowry, took the UBE in Columbia, SC along with around 500 other hopeful exam takers. To prepare for the UBE, Skye studied 7-10 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 10 weeks while working part-time and being a full-time parent. After completion of the exam, Skye and her family celebrated by taking a much needed vacation to SeaWorld and Discovery Cove in Orlando where they were able to swim with dolphins, mingle with flamingos, and generally leave the stress of the bar exam behind.

Skye and Ryan, her husband of 18 years, have three daughters who are all anxiously awaiting the results of the bar exam which will be released in late October.
